Drilling and Blasting

Aggregate quarries often require comprehensive mine development and site preparation, which includes careful drilling and blasting techniques. Projects may involve creating road cuts and utility trenches while implementing effective rockfall mitigation strategies. For power line foundations and home & building foundations, rock removal is essential and is often complemented by shoring to provide stability. Additionally, boulder removal and non-explosive rock removal techniques can be utilized to enhance site readiness.

Rockfall Mitigation

Draped mesh and debris barriers are essential components in rockfall mitigation strategies, designed to prevent rock removal from dangerous areas. Rockfall fences and rock bolts work in conjunction with drilling and blasting techniques to secure unstable terrain. Additionally, rock anchors provide extra support, while pinned mesh can effectively assist in rock scaling efforts. For avalanche mitigation, helicopter access is crucial, allowing for timely interventions and shoring up vulnerable spots.

Geo-Stabilization

Soil Nails are essential for stabilization, while Ground Anchors provide secure anchoring. Techniques such as Soldier Pile & Lagging are utilized for effective shoring, and Shotcrete offers surface protection. For deep foundation support, Micropiles are critical, whereas Driven Piles allow for quick installation. Caissons are necessary for creating robust load-bearing structures. To prevent soil loss, Erosion Control Systems are crucial, and methods like Blasting and Drilling are frequently used for Rock Removal and Rockfall Mitigation.
